About
A roof is the most expensive thing most homeowners will ever replace — and shopping for one is miserable. Most "free estimate" tools online exist to harvest your phone number; the number they show you is bait.
HowMuchRoof does the opposite: no email required, no phone number, no sales call. Just a cost range built from published 2026 contractor pricing data, with every assumption documented on our methodology page.
Why ranges, not exact prices
Because exact prices from a web form are fiction. Contractor quotes for the same roof routinely differ by thousands of dollars based on crew availability, season, and how badly they want the job. A range you can defend beats a precise number you can't.
How we make money
When you're ready for real numbers, we can connect you with local roofers for free quotes — and if that connection turns into a job, the roofer's network may pay us a referral fee. It never changes your estimate, and it never costs you anything. We'll always label sponsored placements clearly.
